About Friendly Introductions

Good company starts with hello.

Making friends should feel a little more human.

We can spend a whole day connected to our phones and still miss having someone to talk to. Friendly Introductions is a small answer to that very ordinary problem: a place for adults in Perth and surrounds to meet new people for friendship.

Maybe you have just moved here. Maybe your friends have moved away, your routines have changed, or you would simply like a new walking companion, a coffee friend or someone who shares your interests. You do not need a grand explanation. Wanting good company is enough.

Friendship is the point.

This site is for friends, rather than dating or romantic introductions. Single, partnered, married or somewhere in between: your relationship status does not decide whether you belong. Be clear, be respectful and meet people with the expectations this community shares.

A little room to breathe.

Profiles, introductions and messages are free. Women make first contact with women: anyone who is not a woman cannot initiate with a woman. Other introductions follow mutual friendship preferences. You can send two messages in a row, then wait for a reply.

Friendship can cross genders. New accounts start with any gender accepted; you can choose otherwise. Your gender remains part of your profile and determines how the first-contact rule applies.

One account. One you.

Friendly Introductions and our sister site, Discreet Introductions, share one account and one set of profile details. Use the same email and password on either site; when your preferences fit, your profile may appear on both. Your email, password, authenticator, photos, approval, availability, conversations and blocks work across both. Discreet members who selected Friendship can meet compatible members here too. Shared free-text profiles may describe interests beyond friendship; introductions made here are for friendship. You can use either site with your existing login, completing any missing matching details when needed.

Kindness is part of the arrangement.

If someone is not your kind of company, hide or block them and leave them alone. If someone hides or blocks you, accept their choice and move on. Harassment, scams and impersonation have no place here. You can contact Admin through the site if something needs attention.

A face photo and administrator approval are required before using member features. Two-factor authentication becomes compulsory seven days after account creation. Optional in-person identity checks and meeting records are separate services; neither guarantees a safe meeting.

Start with a hello. A good friendship rarely needs a more elaborate beginning.

Your account records which site it was created on and which sister site is now your main site. Under My profile you can change your main site and tick the option to stop matching with people whose main account is on the other site. If either person opts out, you will not be introduced across different main sites. This preference applies on both websites; existing conversations remain open.
